About

Noel Nissen graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2024 with a BFA in studio arts. His practice focuses on painting and drawing, where he pulls memories from a rural early life to build scenes in conversation with art history. Noel is the 2024-25 McMullan Arts Leadership intern for the Prints and Drawings department at the Art Institute of Chicago. Additionally he has curated exhibitions at Color Club, an experimental art event center in Chicago, where he has shown many up and coming and established artists. His work has been shown at Mana Contemporary, SAIC galleries and Color Club.
